Stepmom from Hell

Stepmom from Hell

Izzy has a reason to be concerned about her father’s business because he is not only sick but getting worse, but what she is about to witness is betrayal and danger she could never have imagined. One of the stars is Lexi Giovagnoli, Lorenzo Lamas, Shelby Janes, Bri Ana Wagner, and Milli M. (2024).

Recap/Wine Thoughts

The moment security camera footage shows someone attacking a janitor (with a really cool beard!) who was just whistling and simply cleaning a room. Cut to an angry Izzy who has to present Trusting Paws to some intransigent Sunday audience members that she had to bring in again for another SATURDAY presentation. (Ugh this woman in the front is so obnoxious – does she not understand that she is so obnoxious or does she own it and is iconic?) Clearly the pitching went horribly and Izzy is screaming at the posterboard she created in rage.

Jack, Izzy’s father, is a local businessman who has established himself so well that it is now the 30th year of his business, and he is celebrating. While providing his gratitude during the speech, there is a sudden lapse of memory, sort of a freaky momentary short memory loss. (This scene didn’t come across as it should; it seems like the actor simply forgot the line and moved on.)

One of Jack’s stepdaughters, Dana, is currently managing the accounting books for him, but she says he hasn’t been managing them very well. (He is getting old, and his memory is getting worse). And there’s Dana’s hatred towards her stepmother Katherine, and everything about her is extremely pleasant, but underneath, she’s the poor stepmother of all the stories. Jack instructs Izzy to join him at the office and to virtually hold the dog start-up, well, not a hold, more like one hundred percent choke. (I am sorry, I am not saying this to offend you but I just couldn’t hold it!)

Mrs. Darby, who has her own business, pours out that there are some issues in the family business which are annoying her. Izzy gets to the records herself and finds some scents of questionable settlements in the documents. (The background music at this part was quite strange.) She also witnesses Dana and Terri hiding behind shredder on a Sunday afternoon ripping up papers that were totally not intended to be her possessions.

Jack appears confused after falling in the bathroom. Izzy discovers her father and cries out for aid.

Katherine rushes in and instead of dialing 911, she finds it appropriate to call the family doctor. The doctor informs Izzy that her father has recently been tending to some falls, and may be beginning to show signs of dementia. (He really seems to care; in contrast, Katherine appears to be covering up something. Could it be that she is… the Stepmom from Hell?)

In the midst of rummaging through Izzy’s apartment, she gets assaulted and drugged. And AthebAdia wakes up on the floor of her studio, with the layout of everything intact. She just continues with her routine activities as if nothing happened. She goes to the office and comes across the local detective football linebacker, her former lover, Brian Roman. (A complete loser!)

Also, Jack has a fixation with cookies, which I am convinced are laced with drugs. Izzy turns to Jack over the issue and Jack wonders why, when 700K has disappeared. Jack attempts to access his account but is unable as he has forgotten his login details.

Katherine is a little tipsy after consuming a martini late at night and dressed in elegant silk pajamas. She’s certainly the stepmom from hell, but there’s something pretty cool about her as well. Later on, Katherine terminates the doctor’s contract when he is found talking to Jack about dementia. Then, she lodges a motion against Izzy, alleging that she is a danger to her father and subsequently puts out a restraining order.

Mr. Darby, the Baker, is killed and her bakery is blown up for the insurance money. Moreover, who do you think did it; Dana or Katherine?

Jack dies at which point Katherine rapidly announces the revised will and Izzy is excluded. Everybody is UNDER KATHERINE’S CONTROL! Katherine begins to sell everything up and intends to relocate to Florida. (Additionally, she sends out invites for the funerals which is pretty crazy.)

Izzy’s car has a Lifetime breakdown.

During the burial of Jack, Izzy speaks out in a highly emotional voice and defies Katherine. Someone, adds Izzy, hates her father so much she had him angled killed. Afterward, Izzy goes to see her detective boyfriend for assistance. He hands her a spy camera so she can record Katherine.

Izzy stealthily enters Katherine’s house to place the camera and has almost completed the task when the doorbell rings, it is the medic that Katherine dismissed. The doctor and Katherine converse, and he expresses suspicion regarding abuse of medications that he prescribed to Jack, who died. Katherine pours him tea and drugs the doctor and strikes him over the head with the candlestick. (Izzy witnesses all the events which took place, and so does the camera!)

The next visitor is Dana who accuses her mother of stealing money from the children. Dana is not in the picture! She comes across the doctor’s dead body and freaks out. Katherine has already told her daughter that she has done whatever she was supposed to do, because she was a single woman with kids!!!!! There are always sacrifices in life, did you know that? One of them is stealing or murdering.

Terri, the secretary, hits Dana over the head and has been assisting Katherine due to feelings of inadequacy.

Izzy leaps from the closet with a knife and sprints up the stairs to find a safe place. She uses a hot shower and the room is now foggy. The mother in law and the daughter begin to fight. As a result, Izzy’s tumble down the stairs causes her to scream. Running with a knife in her hand, Katherine escapes in pursuit of Izzy. Ultimately, Izzy plunged the knife into Katherine and killed her.

One month later, Izzy too manages her papa’s and the business of the paws! She officially dates detective Roman and is trying to reconcile with Dana.
