The central character of the drama is a young lady Cora, an heiress, who loses everything after her father passes away and her mother suffers from an illness, and is forced to seek employment. Cora Lane is feeling miserable as she sits at a pub all alone. She is broke and her boyfriend, Easton has taken back his engagement ring because he found out that her parents are bankrupt. While looking for someone to talk to, her friend Byron looks over her and without thinking, she starts to kiss him. Unbeknownst to her, they slept together the night before. Three weeks later, Cora and Byron break up. Her mom is in a coma due to a stroke, but is gradually waking up.
Cora is presented with a serious dilemma. Her mother is on a hospital bed due to a serious illness and people have even suggested that it is a fatal illness. Cora has to come up with $50k by the end of the month or she could lose everything she has. She becomes desperate and contacts her ex-fiancé, Easton. When he picks up, all he does is insults her and her character multiple times. As he further sticks to every single insult, Easton’s girlfriend walks over holding Cora’s engagement ring, the one Easton took from her and gloats about how pathetic Cora is.
When Cora is frustrated by Mia’s hostile intent, Byron interjects quite unexpectedly. To allow her to manage her mom’s debts, he employs her as his assistant and lends her fifty thousand dollars, thereby supporting her in reconstructing broken pieces of life.
Once she was a fine young lady and a billionaire heiress who roamed in luxury. But then her dad committed suicide after their family financially collapsed, and her world came crumbling down. Her four years long engagement with Easton went down the drain. Cora’s life took a toll when her mother had a stroke. Since these events, she has been dealing with people left, right, and center ever since it all happened.
It is certainly not easy to see your husband to be move on only weeks after a photo of you both together is released to the public. And when that person is the one who was the only reason people even cared about you before the unfortunate series of events unfolded, makes it worse. Cora has always had a spontaneous side to her which is why many were not surprised when Byron’s home is where she ended up that particular night.
Byron Hansen is L.A.’s richest man (and uncle of Cora’s ex-fiancé) for a valid reason: He exhibits high levels of charm and possesses more charisma than most people would have in their entire body which other people do not have. He does not have a lot of long term relationships and so it is quite shocking when one learns that he had sex with her at Easton’s bar mitzvah for all occasions. He continues to act in a loving manner, in a manner that is almost too much loving in fact, and Cora is perplexed by the reason why he is such a loving man in the first place.
He got her the job, and she should have taken it because it was simply not possible for her not to take it. He gave her the money cause he knew she would not take the medical bills from anybody else. And this odd person who was always able to hear the word ‘no’ and quite infrequently said it herself, started feeling a lot like a life line.
Did you by any chance think that it is possible to go through all this discussion without mentioning Easton? Please! The guy takes back a ring from his bankrupt ex girlfriend and dedicates it to his new fiancée six hours after the intermission at Hamilton. Six hours later he throws that one out as well and says to Tmz that Cora cheats him which would be difficult to prove since they have not met since the engagement and she was out of the picture crying over her hospital bills. But she is alright now!
Conclusion
“Snatched a Billionaire to Be My Husband” describes three worlds love, betrayal, and the one where breaking up with someone when their mother is in the ICU is a very bad idea. It’s also about strength and most importantly about the consequences of angering wealthy people.
Both the characters were emotionally weak and yet very powerful which is quite irritating sometimes but for the most part just serves as a friendly reminder that no matter how rich someone is, at some point they had to steal splenda from Starbucks. And how much more civilised they are when they are rich and trying to buy you things!
This is not going to be the show that you should watch if you want all the contestants speaking inaudibly between each other in almost every scene and you are trying to comprehend if the people are even speaking English or are just mumbling This is not that show! But on the contrary, if you think it is ok for something as rotten as a billion dollars to rest in someone’s hand, and look forward to watching Twenty Pretty People Fight For Their Life On National Television 40000 Then I guess go ahead and watch this show!
