Gold Valley Movies is performing on the stage at EFM 2023 and presenting the latest original animation film, Little Emma, which recently was announced as the winner of the MPA Asia-Pacific Cooperation Special Award for best work in progress at the Beijing International Film Festival. The studio has also presented a brand new trailer for WHAT THE HELL in MY HEAD a new CG family film adventure.
Synopsis: Little Emma, is about a small human girl in a world with BIG creatures, not one of them really has an idea of what she is. She is on an exploration to discover her roots and her place in the world. She makes good friends who support her in her quest like Newton who is an awkward genius turtle and Edward Wolff who believes that Emma is more than she appears!
Also featured in the voice cast are Natalie Grace as Emma from Matrix like comebacks, T-Rex ranch; and Broadway performer Travis Cloer as Edward and Brian Bar Topaz as Newton; and other stars as Niko Gerentes and Amy Margolis with various characters. The film is directed by Leo Lewis including Mulan: Princess Warrior feature films, Sean Lamb, Everybody’s got a crush on a little sorcerer, as well as a screenplay.
On February 16 and February 18, Gold Valley Films will host two showings of the film’s first 50 minutes. Besides Little Emma, GVF will also come to EFM with Nils: The New Adventure based on Selma Lagerlof’s novel, the first woman Nobel prize in literature, and Wojtek The Bear both in Berlin.
Little Emma is GVF’s eighth animated feature in a growing collection of titles which include Ella and the Little Sorcerer, Cinderella and the Secret Prince, Academy of Magic and Mulan: The Princess Warrior. Allen Tsang, GVF’s head of international, is the leader of the delegation to Berlin together with other sales expert Ariel Veneziano. And the Gold Valley Film’s team is at The Marriott 1010.
“I am glad that EFM has come back to its pre-pandemic moods and I am happy to see that it will be possible to communicate, drink, eat and finally meet colleagues from various corners of the world,” said Tsang.
“Little Emma is an amazing project, it’s distinctive, original and easy to identify with. Certainly we are delighted to bring such an animation and marketable project to Berlin.” said Veneziano about the project.
Little Emma is currently in postproduction and scheduled for delivery in the 2nd Quarter of the current year. Neko Productions, which developed promotions for various games in the Sonic the Hedgehog animation franchise, and family entertainment giant Toonz Media Group, with successful projects such as Wolverine and the X-Men, Speed Racer, 1001 Nights, and Fruit Ninja, are joining GVF as co-producers. Ariel Veneziano, an entertainment industry executive with a wealth of experience, is a consultant to the project.
The film also includes the original score created by Daniel Markovich, recorded and mixed by himself, a well-known composer based in Los Angeles, whose music accompanies many television programs and has appeared at leading international film events, like the Cannes Film Festival and Viennale Film Festival.
“We are thrilled to introduce a unique narrative, one that will appeal to worldwide audiences,” noted GVF CEO Roger (Qing) Chen, who, in 2013, co-founded the studio with Adam (Hao Qiang) Qiu. “And the audience will see a strong female protagonist in this film as well, which is usual in our films, who manages to overcome obstacles thanks to her courage and strong will.”
